Straight answers about panel work
If your question isn't here, call us. We would rather spend five minutes on the phone than have you guess.
Getting started
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Panel estimates are free. We come out, open the panel, look at the meter, mast and grounding, and give you a written number based on what is actually there rather than a guess over the phone.
Do you do general electrical work?
Our specialty is the panel and the service around it: replacements, amperage upgrades, fuse box conversions, subpanels and the dedicated circuits that come off them. That is where our expertise runs deepest. If your project needs work outside that lane, tell us anyway and we will point you toward a contractor we trust.
How soon can you get to my house?
Estimates are usually scheduled within a few business days. Installation timing depends on permit turnaround and utility scheduling in your jurisdiction, and we give you a realistic date at the estimate.
Costs & payment
How much does a panel upgrade cost?
It depends on the service size, the condition of the meter and mast, grounding work and local permit fees. We give you one fixed written price after seeing the equipment, and we do not add change orders unless you change the scope.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer financing through our lending partner so a panel replacement can be paid monthly instead of all at once. Checking your options does not affect your credit score.
When do I pay?
A deposit confirms your installation date and materials order. The balance is due on completion, after the work passes inspection.
The work itself
How long will my power be off?
For most panel replacements and upgrades the outage window is four to six hours. We tell you the expected window before the day and keep you updated as the work progresses.
Do you pull the permit?
Always. Every jurisdiction we serve requires a permit and inspection for panel work. We pull it, meet the inspector and close it out. The cost is in your quote.
Do you use subcontractors?
Never. Every crew on your property is an EPO employee. The person who quoted the job and the crew who installs it work for the same company.
Will you make a mess?
We drop-cloth the work area, vacuum on the way out and haul away the old equipment. Where a wall opening is unavoidable we tell you in advance and patch what we practically can.
Safety & code
How do I know if my panel is a problem?
Common warning signs are breakers that trip under normal load, a burning or plastic smell near the panel, warm breakers or cover, buzzing, scorch marks, rust inside the enclosure, or a full panel with no spare spaces. Any of those deserves an inspection.
Is a fuse box unsafe?
A well-maintained fuse box is not automatically dangerous, but fuses provide no arc-fault or ground-fault protection and they invite over-fusing, which defeats the protection entirely. For a modern household we recommend conversion.
My insurance company flagged my panel. What now?
Send us the letter. We will quote exactly what the carrier is asking for, document the work with photos and provide the permit sign-off they need.
Is 200 amps enough for my house?
For the vast majority of Denver-area homes, yes — including an EV charger and a heat pump. We confirm with a code-based load calculation instead of assuming.
After the job
What warranty do you provide?
Workmanship is warrantied by EPO and equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty, which we register for you. Exact terms are stated on your written quote.
Will my circuits be labeled?
Yes. Every circuit is identified and written into a legible directory, and we photograph the finished panel so you have a record.
